What’s in store for today:
- The worst fitness advice I’ve ever heard for busy entrepreneurs
- Why you don’t need to put off drinking coffee until 10am like influencers tell you
- The ultimate desk routine exercise to reduce stiffness
Today’s issue is brought to you by Unstoppable After 40 Coaching Program. We help entrepreneurs, executives, and business owners to get fit in their 40s & 50s while growing their businesses and enjoying their lifestyles. (In less than 2 hours per week) .
Why do men over 40 get out of shape?
It comes down to one thing: Mindset.
They have knowledge about diet and exercise.
But they look at the obstacles in their way…
Work stress.
Time limitations.
Joint aches & pains.
Guilt about investing in themselves.
Cycles of losing weight and gaining it back.
And they choose to put their health off and stay stuck in a cycle of scrolling social media and listening to Andrew Huberman podcasts.
They think to themselves…
“I’ll get in shape when things slow down.”
But life never slows down.
You either make time or you don’t. It’s a mindset.
That’s why I love this quote by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
At 76, Arnold is still looking at the challenges he faces with his health as mountains to be climbed. And he says he feels just as energetic and enthusiastic as he was when he was younger.
This is what a powerful mindset sounds like.
So ask yourself…
Are you looking at the mountains in your life as a sign to turn back or climb higher?
You’ll never get into shape until you change how you see your problems.
Here is your Unstoppable After 40 Friday Digest:
1. The worst fitness advice I’ve ever heard.
Wouldn’t it be easy to get in shape if that was are only responsibility?
But it’s not for most of us…even me!
This is why it’s crucial to:
- Be clear about your health goals
- Be honest about the time you have
- Have a program that fits your lifestyle
The internet is full of information.
And a lot of it is either 1) wrong or 2) not applicable to you.
For example, I read a post from an expert saying that everyone should exercises 2.5 hours per day for optimal health.
Might be true.
But do you have time for that? I don’t!
That’s why a personalized plan is critical for long-term success. And that’s why my coaching program is different. We prioritize training on our client’s goals, schedule and enjoyment. Then we build from there!
After working with busy professionals for 25 years, this is the only way that works!
2. Why you don’t need to put off drinking coffee until 10am.
I like Andrew Huberman.
But he’s wrong about having to wait 90 minutes before drinking coffee.
How do I know that?
Easy! We have studies that looked into this EXACT thing.
Know what a review of caffeine studies found?
“There is no evidence that caffeine ingestion upon waking is somehow responsible for an afternoon ‘crash’ or that delaying consumption would somehow prevent this if it did occur.”
Two lessons:
- Even educated influencers can be wrong.
- Drink coffee whenever works best for you.
3. The ultimate desk routine exercise.
Do you work at a desk?
Then you need this exercise in your life: Thoracic Spine Mobilization.
When we sit for long periods of time, we can start to get “stuck.”
Then we’re unable to lift our arms over our head. This can lead to shoulder and neck problems – especially if you do a lot of overheaad lifting in the gym.
But don’t worry…this exercises helps reverse it.
Try doing 1-2 sets on your rest days or befoere your upper body workouts.
Perform 10-20 reps and pause at the top for 3-seconds.
Try it and let me know how it goes!
Legendary Life Coaching Client Highlight: Jeff C.
Meet Jeff, a 44-year-old financial advisor from Atlanta who was thriving in business but struggling with fitness.
Despite his efforts with CrossFit, Keto, and intermittent fasting, he saw little progress.
In 4 months, Jeff:
- Shed 30 pounds and said goodbye to his stubborn belly fat.
- Sculpted a leaner, stronger physique with less than 2 hours per week.
- Lowered his stress levels and increased his sleep quality.
- Enjoyed his favorite foods and social events without guilt.
- Boosted his confidence at work, leading to even greater business success.
Jeff’s journey proves that it’s not about working harder, but smarter.
If you’re an entrepreneur, executive, or business owner who wants to get fit in your 40s & 50s, feel confident in your body, and increase energy in a way that fits your busy life, I’m here to help.
