Ted Talk 136: How To Start Living A Legendary Life

Whether it’s been helping Richard Branson get his workout done at 5am, or Robert Downey Jr. get in shape for his first Iron Man movie, or helping an entrepreneur client stay in shape while growing his business…

It doesn’t make a difference.

Being legendary is about making legendary decisions.

I remember a few years ago when I decided that it was time to focus on growing my business.

All the energy, time, and money I put into learning from the top people in the world the latest health and fitness strategies, was transferred over to business building.

I did what a lot of my entrepreneur and high-performing clients do—put their HEALTH LAST.

Don’t get me wrong.

I was drinking coffee for breakfast, doing intermittent fasting until lunch time, cutting all the carbs out of my diet except for vegetables, and doing HIIT workouts.

The idea was to “biohack” my fitness and nutrition while I spent most of my time working on my business.

Guess what? I got fat.

More specifically, my weight shot up to 210 lbs. (from 185 lbs.) and my body fat measured at 24% body fat—that’s 1% shy of being obese.

Not great for a person whose business was in the health & fitness vertical.

Even worse, I had high blood pressure, pre-diabetic blood sugar levels, a low sex drive, and I snored so loudly that I woke myself up in the middle of the night.

Most of my clients up to that time had been entrepreneurs, executives, attorneys, and other people with high-performance careers.

I remember the lectures I would give them about needing to take their health seriously.

And here I was falling into the same trap that they fell into.

It was then that I realized that I wasn’t as good as I thought I was.

Of course, I knew how to get into shape when my whole lifestyle revolved around long workouts and eating a strict low carb diet.

But I didn’t know how to get into great shape while growing a business and taking care of your loved ones at the same time.

It was a tough pill to swallow for someone who spent as many years in the health industry as I had—but it was a necessary lesson. And a key turning point in my life and business.

I made a decision something needed to change.

Then I got to work.

Day in and day out I would go on to learn how to not just transform my body but also my mind. I literally spent thousands of hours delving deep into the latest, most cutting-edge research on fitness, nutrition, and recovery for high performers with limited time to exercise and active social life and business trips.

What I ended up eventually discovering shocked me!

It turns out most of us had fallen for LIES … LIES that were being perpetuated by bodybuilding magazines, fitness blogs, Instagram nutrition gurus and everyone in the health and fitness industry that spreads the idea that the secret to get in great shape is doing time-consuming workouts, following strict diets, and taking miracle supplements.

I felt so gullible and foolish but at the same time I was excited because …

I Decided to Put ALL That I Had Discovered To the Test!

And it´s been years since that moment of truth and the success that came from it.

Now I’m in the best shape of my life, my business is thriving, and I’m living my best life.

And that’s why I do what I do today.

I’ve seen it change my life.

I’ve seen it change the lives of thousands of my clients and listeners.

And today I work with 7-figure and 8-figure business owners who want not just to have money, they want to build a legacy.

And the foundation to that level of success is having a healthy body and mind.
