The first tip is: FOCUS ON BEHAVIORS NOT RESULTS.
What the difference? “I am going to lose 3 pounds this week” is a result. “I am going to workout 3 times this week” is a behavior. Why does it matter? Because, ultimately you cannot control whether you lose those three pounds or not. Maybe you lose them. Maybe you don’t. However, you can definitely make sure you workout 3 times. That is completely in your control.
I understand that you want to lose those three pounds and you probably don’t even want to go to the gym at all let alone three times in a week. So why would i want you to focus on that?? The answer is that if you keep focusing on the behaviors, the results will come. Honestly, it might take you longer than you think. And that’s ok. What none of the annoying late-night marketing infomercials tell you is that losing fat and keeping it off is about adopting healthier habits and doing them over time. Unfortunately, this doesn’t sell because everyone wants a quick fix. There are no shortcuts short of having a personal trainer, eating well, and smart supplementation.
