One thing that tends to happen to many people is that they stay comfortable in their life. Even worse, many people think that feeling uncomfortable is a BAD thing!
Being uncomfortable because your car seat is hurting your low back is not a good thing. But I’m not talking about stuff like that. I’m talking about the actions you take in your life. For some people, asking for a raise is uncomfortable. Or going on a snorkeling trip. Or going up and asking someone out on a date is uncomfortable.
I’m here to tell you that there is NOTHING wrong with being uncomfortable. In fact, doing things that make you uncomfortable are the key to getting what you want in life. As the picture above shows, it’s “Where the magic happens.”
Here are some ways to get outside your comfort zone:
- Take a self-defense course
- Learn musical instrument
- Get scuba certified
- Take a public speaking course
- Learn to water or snow ski
- Go rock climbing
- Take a survivalist course
- Learn to ride horses
- Get firearms training
- Go camping
- Take a boxing class
- Go to a wine tasting
- Take a cooking class
The above list is by no means exhaustive. It’s just to give you a few ideas on where to start.
Another thing I want you to do is to do things that you think “aren’t you.” What do I mean by that? Do whatever makes you the most nervous to think about! It sounds counter-intuitive but that’s where you’ll grow the most! Go for it!
