Review of the Week:
Question:
“Hi Ted, my name is John congratulations on your show. I’ve been listening to it for a couple years now, great job, great work, fascinating interviews; really mentally stimulating, love it. My question is about martial arts for long term health.
I’m forty-five years old. I’m in pretty good health, pretty good shape, pretty good condition and I want to stay that way until I’m ninety-nine. So I’m looking at yoga and a few other martial arts not for self-defense but for long term health.
So down the road, I can still move well and my heart still works well and my lungs still work well and also just the comradery with a nice community of people. So I’m looking at Brazilian Jujitsu, I’m looking at Karate I’m looking at a lot of different things, even Tia Chi.
So any thoughts on that for health; like physical, mental ,emotional health, long term until you’re ninety-nine? What would you recommend as the best or which would be the best martial arts to practice?
Thanks a lot!” — Jon Eckfeld
