It’s shared habits.
In my last relationship, we traveled to incredible places. We visited the Amalfi Coast in Italy and Paris, France together.
But you what I miss most?
Waking up, training together, then getting a coffee after before we started our day.
We didn’t just stay in shape…we stayed in sync.
And when things got tense? We handled it.
Better mood. Better communication. Better sex. (And yeah, research backs that up.)
But when we skipped workouts? Energy, libido, and patience tanked. It was night and day.
So here’s the truth: Attraction gets you in the door. Shared habits keep you there.
So on this Valentine’s Day, don’t just celebrate love.
Invest in it. Train together. Walk together. Move together.
Because the couples who stay strong—physically and emotionally—are the ones who put in the reps.
Here is your Unstoppable After 40 Friday Digest:
1- Is your metabolism actually slow…Or broken?
If you think your metabolism is broken, you’re not alone.
I hear this all the time:
“I used to eat whatever I wanted in my 20s, but now I just look at food and gain weight.”
But here’s the thing…
Research shows your metabolism doesn’t slow significantly until your 60s.
So what’s really going on?
In this week’s podcast, I sit down with Dr. Mike T. Nelson to break down the truth about metabolism, fat loss, and strength training for longevity. We talk about why most people think their metabolism is slow, how to actually test it, and the best ways to speed it up (spoiler: it’s not magic supplements).
We also dive into:
• The biggest metabolism myths holding you back
• Why strength training is non-negotiable for longevity
• How to increase calorie burn without suffering

2- The best supplement combo for reversing your biological clock
If you’re serious about slowing aging, here’s a powerful combo: Omega-3s, vitamin D, and exercise.
A new study found that omega-3s alone reduce biological age and slow the pace of aging.
But when combined with vitamin D and regular exercise?
The anti-aging effects were even stronger. The biggest impact—a nearly 4-month reversal in biological age—was seen when all three were used together. (They used an epigenetic clocks that measure DNA methylation…a topic for another time.)
We already know these interventions work on their own:
Vitamin D: Plays a critical role in slowing cellular aging.
Exercise: The single most powerful way to extend healthspan.
Omega-3s: Low levels are a major risk factor for early death—comparable to smoking when it comes to heart disease.
But here’s the key takeaway: They work even better together.
So, if you’re already exercising? Add omega-3s and vitamin D.
If you’re already supplementing? Make sure you’re moving too.
Because healthy aging isn’t just about what you avoid—it’s about what you do consistently.
3- A simple move to fix neck pain and posture
Most people ignore neck training—until pain and posture problems show up. I started doing Reverse Neck Curls to strengthen my neck extensors for Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
It’s been a game-changer for reducing neck pain and improving posture.
How I Use It: I do these between sets of bench presses or dumbbell chest presses to build neck strength without adding extra time to my workout.
How to Do It:
- Lie face down on a bench, head off the edge.
- Hold a light plate behind your head.
- Lower your head slowly, then extend back up in control.
Sets & Reps:
3 sets of 10-15 reps, 2-3x per week (start with 5-10 lbs).
If you want better posture and a stronger neck, don’t skip this one!
